Baby Girl got dressed up tonight for the church Halloween party. So of course, the obligatory photo session ensued. If you have visited our little blog on more than one occasion, you know that is the natural progression of events.

And if you've made the trip to our little corner of the internet more than two times (bless your heart!), you're aware that often pictures of Reese are accompanied by my subtitles. The reason for this is threefold. One, I crack myself up. Two, people say it makes them laugh. Thirdly, I am the mother, I gave birth to this child, so it goes without saying I know exactly what's going through her head.

Isn't she beautiful? Just the cutest chickadee that you ever did see? I thought so.
What is she thinking? "Ok, this isn't too bad, please hurry and take the picture so I can claw the grass."


"Oh, man. I really hope nobody I know drives by."


"Does this outfit make me look wider somehow? I feel like it's adding a couple of pounds."


"If only this thing came equipped with a real beak. I'd go over and peck her. And it would be hilarious!"

Hi Isaac. I heart you. May I come see you soon? Rest up little man. You'll need it when I come and kiss you all over those cheeks.

an isaac introduction

Isaac Brewster Harrington entered the world at 7:06 this morning. He was 21 and a half inches long and a whopping 8 pounds. For any of you who have ever seen my sister, you can share in my awe at her delivering an eight pound baby. I have no pictures to share (yet!) but will get some up ASAP. Word on the street is he has dark hair and can eat like a champion.

They were all set to induce this morning at 6:30. But around 4:00 Manda started having regular contractions. A few hours later, he was here. Mom, Dad, baby and big sis are all doing well.

We are thanking God for a safe delivery, healthy family and the joy of a new life. Every good and perfect thing is from Him and Him alone! He is so good! Woohoo and amen!

Hannibal Lecter's got nothing on our baby. The poor sheep never saw it coming. Little did he know when he posed for his regulatory monthly photo with the Reester, he would be demoted from sign holder to baby chew toy. In keeping with the spirit of Halloween, let us watch the massacre unfold.

There he is. Holding the six months sign like the professional he is. Unassuming. Unaware.


Suddenly, in one swift move she swoops in for the kill. One hand latches on the jugular, while the other clenches his skull. He's as good as gone.



Don't let the bow fool you people. She means business. I haven't seen a set of jaws that frightening since...well, Jaws.



She's got body slamming skills and she's not afraid to use them.


*Since this photo session, the lamb has filled a complaint citing irreparable harm. His appearance in next month's picture is still up in the air.*

out to lunch

This week Dan had the great idea of going to the park for a picnic. The weather convinced me to take him up on his offer. Dan packed the lunch, I packed the baby and we were off.

It had to have been one of the most beautiful days of the year. The breeze blew just enough. But not too much. Otherwise it would have interfered with sitting up practice.



This was our backdrop.


And this, our ceiling.


The wider the spread of the fingers, the greater its path of destruction.
